Next month on April 8, 2024, the United States will experience a total solar eclipse!
Were you aware?
I was clueless until longtime customer, Di P., sent the following email last week:
"Hi, Christopher! I know it's a lot to ask with a short deadline, but would you consider a total eclipse postcard? ... I am astounded that there aren't more options for eclipse merchandise considering all the urban locations of the April 8th eclipse and the number of people who will be able to witness the event."
Yikes!
I completely forgot about Leap Year, wasn't aware of the upcoming Cicada Invasion, and now almost missed the Total Eclipse.
(I wonder what other monumental events in 2024 I'm forgetting?
Since a total eclipse is a BIG DEAL—and time was of the essence—I dropped everything and created four commemorative postcards to celebrate this historic event
Here are some interesting tidbits about the eclipse:
- The total solar eclipse will be visible along a track stretching from Texas to Maine.
- A partial eclipse will be visible throughout all 48 contiguous U.S. states.
- The shadow cast will be 123 miles wide, moving at 1,564 mph, with the duration of totality lasting 4 minutes and 26 seconds.
