Celebrating 250 Years of Postal History

Celebrating 250 Years of Postal History

Christopher Arndt |

In 2025, the United States Postal Service celebrates a monumental milestone—250 years of connecting our nation.

Our Commemorative Collection

To celebrate this historic event, we have created 12 different postcards—each revealing a different pivotal moment in the history of the postal service. Plus, fascinating facts and trivia are included to provide historical context.

The Beginning
The first postcard in the set commemorates the establishment of the United States Post Office by the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia on July 26, 1775—while also highlighting Benjamin Franklin's appointment as the first Postmaster General:

Release Schedule
Each month, we'll release a new postcard in the series. Each commemorative postcard will remain available throughout 2025—so no need to worry if you miss a month.

In December 2025 when we release the final postcard, all 12 postcards will be available as a collector's keepsake.

Collect all 12
When you collect all 12 postcards and align them in the pattern shown below, they'll reveal a connecting timeline spanning from 1775 to 2025, highlighting the Post Office's amazing history.

(Plus, a hidden image will be revealed—and a small portion is already showing on this first postcard).

Be Part of Postal History
As we commemorate this remarkable milestone, you have the opportunity to own a piece of American postal history. Don't miss out on this unique timeline collection that spans 250 years of connecting our nation!
