On Presidents Day, we paused to honor the leaders who shaped our nation and the enduring principles they championed.
This week, we’re celebrating that legacy with our new Flag of Presidents postcard—featuring the names of every U.S. president woven into the design of the American flag.
Each stripe represents a chapter in our nation’s story, a reminder that the ideals set forth in the Constitution are carried forward one presidency at a time.

Fun facts about our Presidents
- The United States was the first country to title its head of state as "President," a term borrowed from Latin meaning "to sit before," setting it apart from monarchs or emperors.
- The most common first name among U.S. presidents is James, shared by six: Madison, Monroe, Polk, Buchanan, Garfield, and Carter.
- The first seven presidents were born as British subjects in the American colonies; Martin Van Buren was the first born as a U.S. citizen after independence.
- Four presidents served their entire terms without a vice president due to succession without a replacement mechanism at the time.
- Presidents have kept some truly exotic pets at the White House, from alligators and raccoons to badgers, snakes, opossums, macaws, donkeys, geese, lizards, sheep, barn owls, silkworms, goats, and bald eagles.

If the design looks familiar, it’s inspired by our Flag of 50 States postcard. Both honor America in classic red, white, and blue.
